Area CT (quartiere Kasbah), Saggio CF. Campagna di scavo 2019

L’articolo fa riferimento alle attività di indagine svolte presso il quartiere della cosiddetta Kasbah (CT): contestualmente all’avvio dell’analisi stratigrafica muraria dell’intera area, è stato individuato un ambiente (CF) che presentava ancora tracce di stratificazione al di sopra delle pavimentazioni di età romana. Lo scavo di questo ambiente ha permesso di individuare la presenza di almeno tre fasi importanti di frequentazione: la prima, attestata da un pavimento in ciottoli, è relativa forse ad una fase pre-romana; la seconda, di età romana, vede la costruzione di un edificio a gradoni, interpretato come una fontana monumentale, e la terza, forse di età tardo-antica, è attestata dalla presenza di una fornace (forse una calcara) impostata all’interno dell’edificio romano ormai defunzionalizzato.The paper refers to the activity of research at the so-called Kasbah quartier (CT): at the beginning of the wall stratigraphical analysis of the area, a room has been identified (CF), which still had traces of stratification above the roman floors. After the excavation of this room, at least three phases of attendance have been identified: the first one, attested by the presence of a pebbly floor, is maybe related to a pre-roman phase; during the second one, related to the Roman age, a stepped building was built, interpreted as a monumental fountain; the third one, maybe related to the late antiquity, is attested by the presence of a kiln (maybe a limekiln) set inside the defunctionalized roman building.
