Le Terme Centrali. Campagne di scavo 2018 e 2019

Le attività di scavo 2018 e 2019 dell’Università degli Studi di Milano svolte presso le Terme Centrali hanno interessato i vani di servizio situati a nord e a sud del complesso termale, al fine di identificarne le principali fasi di vita e chiarire le numerose dinamiche edilizie che hanno apportato modifiche all’impianto originario. Nello specifico, gli interventi hanno riguardato gli ambienti Tq, Tt e Tr, nei quali sono ubicati i praefurnia del calidarium e dei tepidaria, ed il corridoio meridionale denominato SdT. Inoltre, parte delle indagini si è focalizzata entro i limiti di quello che si presenta come un grande ambiente di risulta ubicato a nord del vano Tr-Tt, immediatamente a ovest del castellum aquae, denominato Ts.The excavations conducted in 2018 and 2019 by the Università degli Studi di Milano at the Terme Centrali were centred on the service rooms situated to the north and south of the bathhouse, and were aimed at identifying the main phases of occupation, as well as to shed light on the numerous rebuilding interventions that modified the original structure. Specifically, the investigations regarded Rooms Tq, Tt and Tr, in which the praefurnia of the calidarium and tepidaria are situated, and the southern corridor known as SdT. Furthermore, part of the investigation was focused within the borders of a large space positioned to the north of Room Tr-Tt, directly to the west of the castellum aquae, known as Ts.
